KNOW THE PAST - LIVE THE PRESENT
The Association
The Association began in July 1991 to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the birth of Jean Pilon in 1691. Jean was the first born son of Antoine Pilon of France and of Marie-Anne Brunet of Canada. The first reunion gathered nearly 700 Pilons and associates and had been instigated by Rita Pilon and her husband, Bernard Gaouette, and was held in Hull and Gatineau, Quebec, on July 20-21, 1991. The first temporary Executive Council had ten members elected by those in attendance and was formed on the Sunday morning in Ste-Cecile-de-Masham, Quebec.
The Association, incorporated since March 31, 1992, is officially known by the name of ASSOCIATION DES PILON D'AMÉRIQUE INC. According to its constitution, it is governed by an Executive Council that is elected at the annual meeting.
The Association hopes to provide you with information on the genealogy and history of Pilons as well as maintain close ties, in both French and English, to Pilons not only in Quebec but also in other parts of the country as well as the United States.
Our ultimate wish would be that every Pilon who visits our site would find the information that he/she is looking for, incite them to become members and for those who live nearby to become volunteers so our association can remain active and prosper.
